All About Preply History
2012 : Kirill Bigai, Dmytro Voloshyn, and Serge Lukyanov formed the firm in 2012 in Ukraine. Since its relaunch in November 2013, the website, preply.com, has focused on online language education.
2013 : At the end of August 2013, Semyon Dukach, Borya Shakhnovich, Vadim Yasinovsky, Dan Pasko, and Torben Majgaard invested $180,000 in Preply, making it a premier educational company in Ukraine. It was in 2013 that the corporation began growing into the markets of Ukraine and Belarus.
2016 : The Preply platform was redesigned in 2016 by incorporating a machine learning algorithm to recommend and classify teachers.
2018 : All-in-one language learning environment, with integrated video platform, online chat, screen sharing and more, was released in 2018 as Preply Classroom formerly Preply space.
2019: During the year 2019, Preply launched a new office in Barcelona, Spain, and expanded its services to the UK, Germany, and the Spanish-speaking market there.
2021: There have been eight financing rounds for the app, totaling $50.6 million.
The Innovative Contribution of Preply
The product of Preply is based on human tuition one-on-one. Matching between students and tutors is improved using a machine learning algorithm that takes into account factors such as the student’s needs and the tutor’s availability.
They created a curriculum offering exclusively for Preply that includes AI-assisted placement exams, interactive vocabulary exercises, and other elements that are available across all platforms.
